Due to the sheer number of models, our overview of all electric SUVs on the German market is divided into four sections. This section focuses on the mid-range, which we define here as models between 4.61 and 4.80 meters. We are constantly updating this list.
The mid-size SUVs include bestsellers like the Tesla Model Y and the Skoda Enyaq. A new addition is the Smart #5 , which has been available to order since the end of April 2025. The Citroen e-C5 Aircross , however, is not yet on the market . If you're looking for the Aiways U5 : We've removed it because, although it is configurable, sales by the electric car chain Euronics were discontinued in 2023. We've also removed the MG Marvel R because it is no longer configurable. The same applies to the Maxus Euniq 6 .
But now we move on to the mid-size SUVs; as always, they are arranged by length.
Top videos:
Alpine A390 (4.62 m)
Well, is this still a crossover or already a coupe-SUV? Opinions may differ. But at 1.53 meters, the car is already quite tall. The technical basis is the AmpR Medium, the same platform that underpins, for example, the Renault Scenic or the upcoming Nissan Leaf. The Alpine A390 is not yet configurable, but two all-wheel drive engine versions have been announced. A special feature: Both have one motor in the front and two in the rear, enabling active torque vectoring. The A390 GT has 295 kW, the GTS offers 345 kW. Both have an 89 kWh battery for up to 555 km WLTP range. Prices have not yet been announced.
Ford Capri (4.63 m)
The Ford Capri is, after the Explorer, Ford's second car based on VW's modular electric vehicle platform. The body is reminiscent of the Polestar 2, and the length is similar, but the height is noticeably greater at 1.64 m. Drivetrains and batteries are familiar from the VW Group's other models: there are rear-wheel-drive models with 125 and 210 kW, as well as the 250 kW all-wheel-drive model, although the latter comes with the new 79 kWh battery. Ranges are up to 627 km. Since the introduction of the new "Style" version, prices start at €42,400.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 received a subtle facelift in the summer of 2024, most notably larger batteries: the base version now has 63 kWh instead of 58 kWh, and the other versions have 84 kWh instead of 77 kWh. The maximum range also increased from 507 to 570 km. The DC charging capacity also increased, but the charging time remained unchanged, and that's no cause for concern: 18 minutes is really short—this is where the 800-volt technology really pays off. There are still two rear-wheel drive and one all-wheel drive versions available. The Ioniq 5 N with 478 kW is also available for €74,900.

Kia EV6 (4.68 m)
The Kia EV6 has been on the market since 2021. In late fall 2024, it received a facelift that brought it the "Starmap" light signature and larger batteries – similar to its sister model, the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Like the latter, the Kia is based on the E-GMP platform and features the same 800-volt system. The drivetrains are also the same: There are rear-wheel-drive models with 125 and 168 kW, a 239 kW all-wheel-drive model, and a 478 kW sports version, the EV6 GT. The longest-range version is the 168 kW version with an 84 kWh battery, which can travel up to 582 km and costs around €50,000.

Smart #5 (4.70 m)
A new addition is the Smart #5 : With this 4.70 m long model, the manufacturer ventures into the mid-size segment for the first time. One of its special features is that the base version is a 400-volt model, while all others operate at 800 volts. This allows the 94 kWh battery to charge from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes, just as fast as the smaller battery in the Ioniq 5. Furthermore, the Brabus version, with 475 kW, is practically as powerful as the Ioniq 5 N.

Ford Mustang Mach-E (4.71 m)
The Mustang Mach-E represents a significant price jump: According to the price list, the mid-size SUV starts at €56,500. But it's worth taking a look at the configurator, where the base version is listed at a special offer price of €53,675. This offers a 197 kW rear-wheel-drive engine with a 72.6 kWh LFP battery for a range of 470 kilometers. The most attractive version for us is the 203 kW rear-wheel-drive engine with an NMC battery for a range of 600 km (special offer price: €56,240). Incidentally, prices have increased since the end of 2024, and the performance data for some models has changed slightly.

Genesis Electrified GV70 (4.72m)
The electric GV70 from Genesis is based on the combustion-engined GV70 model. At 4.72 meters, it is about 20 centimeters longer than the GV60. Two 180 kW electric motors provide powerful all-wheel drive, and power is still supplied by the familiar 77 kWh battery. However, a facelift has been announced , and afterward, the car will likely receive the new 84 kWh battery. This should also slightly increase the range (currently a rather meager 455 km for this class). However, thanks to the 800-volt system, charging takes just 18 minutes (10-80%). In keeping with the brand's premium focus (and the engine's performance), the price isn't exactly low.
- Base price: 69,580 euros (pre-facelift model)

KGM Torres EVX (4.72 m)
Until February 2025, the car was still called the SsangYong Torres EVX according to the price list , but now it operates under the name of the brand's new owner, the KGM Torres EVX. Since the compact Korando e-Motion is no longer available to order, the Torres EVX is now the brand's only electric vehicle. It is powered by a 152 kW electric motor at the front, powered by a 73 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery from BYD. This enables a range of up to 462 km according to the WLTP test. At a fast-charging station, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 37 minutes. Prices have dropped since February from just under €44,000 to €41,990.

A 265 kW rear-wheel drive and three all-wheel drive versions with 300, 380, or 470 kW (with Launch Control activated) are available. Unlike its sister model, the Audi Q6 e-tron, the power always comes from a 95 kWh battery; the 76 kWh battery is not offered.
